road to prom

The building anticipation of prom has plagued me for the past couple weeks. Frantic trips to shops about the city, scavenging the earth and the deep crevices of the couch for money, watching various tutorials of hairstyling and makeup, sending out for the cleaners, practicing a walk around the kitchen in heels too tall to manage, acting as personal shopper and stylist to my date — it all boils down to this day.

I never thought I'd become so consumed with prom — I'm not the type to, but my obsessive compulsive personality has led me to it. I'm more nervous than excited at this point. I am, although, very pleased with how prom has become incentive and reason to buy lovely things. There is a kindling romance with myself and this dress. Though it's nothing fancy, it has been on my wishlist for some time now. I couldn't justify buying such a pricey dress on a whim. I hope to post a breakdown of my outfit by tomorrow. I must warn you though, tomorrow is the day of my prom so I'll be hysterically pulling my outfit together. Until my next post, I'll leave you with this mysterious and out of focus photo of myself in the
T.Babaton Ronnie Dress in Abstract Dot.

On a sidenote, I am the happy winner of ban.dō shoe clips from Pursuit of Shoes' giveaway! I'll make sure to do a post on those as soon as they arrive!

my wishlist: summer edition

I haven't done one of these posts in a while and frankly, I miss them. It's a lot of fun for me to catalogue and compile all my favourite pieces into a little collage. Everything in this one seems to be the same colour though. I guess it's just my love for neutrals and nudes. You'll also notice more than one lengthy skirt on there. I'm trying to make them my summer staple.

1.
Wrinkled Maxi Skirt; Off my Nastygal wishlist, this no-fuss maxi skirt is perfectly beachy with it's comfortable material and intentional wrinkles. If you have a lot of delicate or 'hand wash only' garments like I do, this skirt's washing instructions will probably be magnificent.

2.
Club Monaco Wide Stretch Bracelet; I'm really into Club Monaco's jewellery of late.

3.
Club Monaco Carrie Messenger; A darling little satchel from yet again, Club Monaco.

4.
Urban Outfitters Skakuhachi Bustier; So fun and colourful!

5.
Waist Gap Paperbag Shorts; For the days I don't wish to wear bloomers, shorts. It seems as though I'm navigating into a 'solely skirts as bottoms' streak with this wishlist.

6.
Dieppa Restrepo Camel Rusty Boot; These boots are very expensive and out of reach for a gal who does not have a job or credit card. I can still dream right?

7.
T.Babaton Catamaran T-Shirt; The making of this post divvied up over the span of two days. Two days on which the second day I went shopping and purchased this top.

8.
ban.dō Pom Pom Flower; If I can't have this one, I think I'll have a go at my own.

9.
Hibou Delehanty Cross-body Bag; The Gap satchel I've keep so dearly close to me for the past year is starting to wither. Threads have come loose, the leather is worn, and it seems to collaspe on itself. As novel as this rustic look may be, I think it's time for a new bag over my shoulder.

10.
Zara Tulle Dress; I'll always have a soft spot for tulle and beige.

11.
T.Babaton Taylor Skirt; I've been carefully watching this skirt over the past season and it's finally gone on sale! I must act fast before it goes out of stock. It is the model pleated midi skirt in which I compare all other midi skirts.

12.
Big Baggu in Elephant; Perhaps there's rooms for a new addition in my Baggu family. This would be great as a shopping or book bag.

13.
Mango Pleat Midi Skirt; And lastly, another pleated midi skirt. Why don't I just get one in every colour?

south st. burger

I love a good burger, and South St. Burger Co. has one of the most delicious and hardy burgers I've ever had. What's great about them is that their patties are organic. This means the beef is raised without antibiotics or hormones and contains no preservatives or filler. While this is always a great thing to hear, does it taste good? I'm glad to say that there is no compromise in the taste with the health factor. It tastes, if not just as good, better! They have this great homemade taste, they're juicy, and they're filling. New York Fries is also one of the side options—always a plus. I love skin-on fries.

Anyways, I think I've rambled on enough. What are these words without pictures?

If you haven't already, you should swing on by. For more info on South St. Burger Co. and locations click here.

order with the girls

Surprise, surprise. Well over a month ago, I did an Urban Outfitters order with my friends Nina and Sonya. I've only gotten around to blogging about it now because I've been so busy but I'm going to start catching up now.

As you can already tell from the photo, I picked up this
fighting bears double ring. I think it's rather adorable, although they are boasting their viscious teeth at each other—it's kind of cute. Maybe it'll make me look tougher than the delicate flower I really am.

In the poor photos below, I also picked this BDG classic stripe cardigan. I wish I had taken better shots of it. I suppose I could retake the photos but it is currently very gloomy out so these will just have to suffice. I'm lazy but if you wish to, you can have a better look at the cardigan here.

I'm proud to say that I bought both these items on sale! The ring was $6.99 and the cardigan $9.99, plus the shared cost of shipping of course. Not too shabby if I do say so myself.

road to snacks

Day 11

It's hard to say if this day is even blog-worthy. We spent most of the day on the road, waking up at eight and travelling from Como, Italy to Salzburg, Austria over a nine hour bus ride. Before we left Italy we had discovered a little gem of a grocery store across the street from our hotel called Billa. Everything there was grossly cheap so on the morning of departure, trails of us out-of-towners made our way across the road and back with grocery bags in hand. We stocked up on drinks and munchies to keep our tummies happy for the long ride. Funny enough, we made a stop for lunch at a place that was part servery, part grocery store. It was yet another opportunity to grab as many snacks as we could.

Eating was really all we had seemed to do that day. We arrived in Salzburg at night, had dinner, and went to bed shortly after. There weren't many pictures to show for except a few fuzzy ones of our hotel room and one of the soup we had ate that night. Therefore, I leave you with this single photo of a snack shelf.
