how to make deep dish cookies

This isn't so much of a tutorial as it is a choppy photo-diary of cookies being made. After much wasted time, I finally decided to have a go at making deep dish cookies. I discovered this recipe off of my go-to food inspiration site, White On Rice Couple blog. My food photography is immeasurable to these guys. Although I took many photos they were all taken by shaky hands, anxious to finish baking and eat the final product so please excuse the sub par photos.

Proof that these cookies were in fact baked with love.

Even though this was my first try at these deep dish cookies, they turned out wonderful! They are best served fresh from the oven so that scoop of ice-cream melts over top.

A look into that deep, dark chocolately abyss.

Tip: If you do make these ahead of time, pop them in the microwave for 30 seconds right before serving so that they form back into that warm and melty state. This will make for a nice bed to lie that vanilla ice-cream on again even if they weren't straight from the oven.

Happy baking!
